About Us

First off, we want to say thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We're excited to help you get to know us, and we'd love to get to know you as well!

Nate

Nate is a personal trainer and digital marketing specialist. He has always loved health and fitness, runs his own personal fitness business on the side, and set up a personal gym in our apartment building to train clients and keep in shape. He currently works as a business analyst for Vivint Smart Home.

Nate is secretly Batman by night, loves good food, and playing any sport. He played Rugby and Tennis in high school and enjoys playing basketball, soccer, football... really, anything with a ball (not so much running!). Favorite foods include sushi, steak, pizza, eclairs or creme puffs, and whatever that amazingness is in the picture down below.

He is fun-loving, loves his awesome wife Alma, and is always down to have a good time. He enjoys gaming with his friends from time to time and nights in with the family, as well as going out and having a good time. Any time spent with Alma is always considered a good time!

Nate is funny (at least, that's what Alma tells him!), hard-working, and EXTREMELY humble (okay, maybe not so much that one), kind, and is a good friend. He loves God and tries to put him first in his life.

Alma

Alma is a Special Education Teacher. She teaches students from Kindergarten to 5th grade and loves every minute of it. The most important things in her life are faith and family.

She is 100% Texan with all the Texas pride; Buccees, Blue Bell, Whataburger, Dr. Pepper, floating down the Comal River...you name it! She loves country music (Garth Brooks and George Straight are the best!), sitting outside and enjoying nature, cooking, baking, and doing crafts. She loves sunshine and sunflowers, so summer is her favorite!

Alma is HILARIOUS, and once she gets laughing everyone starts laughing so hard they can't breathe. She is kind, selfless, and one of the hardest workers you will find anywhere. She is very sensitive towards others feelings and helping them feel at ease.

Her favorite animal is a cow. She keeps trying to convince Nate to get some but,..the picture in our kitchen will do for now. She loves thriller movies, if its not a thriller there is a 90% chance she will take a 20 min. nap in the middle of the movie then ask Nate what she missed. Alma competed in powerlifting in highschool and for a couple of years after that. She still enjoys lifting weights and running outside for fun. Her favorite thing is spending time with her family, especially Nate!

The Powell's

We met in 2013 in New York City while serving missions for our church. Alma fell desperately in love with Nate at first sight... okay, it didn't happen exactly like that, but three years later in 2016 we got married in San Antonio Texas.

After getting married we moved to Provo Utah. Nate went to BYU to get his bachelor's degree in Business Management and Therapeutic Recreation, and Alma went to UVU to get her bachelor's degree in Special Education.

After school Nate went to work in digital marketing for a couple of years, while Alma went to work as an Elementary School Special Education Teacher. Alma still works in Special Education, while Nate now works as a business analyst and runs his personal training business on the side.

We enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, trips to the beach, and really anything you can do outside. One of our favorite things to do on weekends is to go out and find random activities, like farmers markets or festivals that are happening, and spend time walking around and spending time together.

We both love health and fitness, and were involved in high school sports. We are currently training for our first Spartan Race this summer. We exercise regularly, and while we enjoy really good food, we generally try to eat pretty healthy. We cook at home together almost every night, except for Friday's when we go out and get something at one of our favorite restaurants (like Super Chix- look it up!!)

We are at a point in our lives where we both feel like it is time to welcome a new little bat-boy or bat-girl into our family, and we are excited to meet with anyone who can help us to realize that goal. We will provide a fun, safe, and loving home for the child that God blesses our family with. We pray everyday for our future child and the sweet expectant mom to feel our love and God's love. Don't hesitate to reach out if you or someone you know are considering placing a child for adoption, we would love to talk with you and see if we would be a good fit.

Thanks for your time! - Nate and Alma
